Description: Trees or shrubs, spines absent.

Leaves alternate, bipinnate, usually with prominent glands on petiole and rachis; stipules ± linear, not persistent.

Inflorescences axillary, spikes or racemes; pedunculate. Flowers 5-merous, bisexual, dimorphic within an inflorescence, subtended by bracts. Calyx 5-toothed. Petals small, united. Stamens numerous, united at base, white, pink or greenish yellow.

Pod papery, flat, straight, dehiscent, not segmented; seeds ± circular to elliptic to oblong, flat to convex.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 4 species Malesia & Australia. Australia: 2 species (1 species endemic Qld, 1 species endemic W.A. & naturalized in other States), Qld, N.S.W., Vic., Tas., S.A., W.A.
