Genus Diplatia Family Loranthaceae

Description: Aerial stem-parasitic shrubs without external runners.

Leaves opposite, with curved veins.

Inflorescences capitate, consisting of 2, rarely 3, sessile triads at apex of common peduncle, central bracts enlarged and foliaceous, oblong to ovate, enclosing flowers and fused at margins over them during development, lateral bracts small, narrow, caducous. Corolla, with free petals, actinomorphic, 5-merous. Anthers basifixed, immobile. Style articulate at base.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 3 species, endemic Australia. Australia: all mainland States except Vic.
