Genus Drymaria Family Caryophyllaceae

Description: Annual or perennial herbs, prostrate, spreading or erect, glabrous or hairy.

Leaves opposite or apparently whorled; stipules falling early.

Flowers in few to many dichasial cymes. Sepals 5, free. Petals usually 3–5. Stamens 2 or 3. Styles 3, ± united below.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 44 species, tropical regions, chiefly Central & South America. Australia: 1 species (now considered to be naturalised).
