Genus Kippistia Family Asteraceae

Description: Perennial shrubs.

Leaves alternate, simple.

Heads terminal, solitary, pedunculate; involucral bracts in several series; receptacle convex, naked. Ray florets many, in several series, female; style branches subulate, glabrous; achene fertile or sterile; pappus of many barbellate bristles free or united into a cup or tube. Disc florets bisexual; anthers obtuse at the base, apical appendages acute; style branches subulate, densely pubescent; achene fertile; pappus of short, more or less fused bristles surmounted by longer, barbed bristles, rarely of bristles united to form a tube.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 1 species, endemic Australia. Australia: 1 species, endemic.
