Description: Shrubs, glabrous.
Leaves opposite, margins entire, shortly petiolate.
Inflorescences axillary, flowers solitary or in pairs on a common peduncle; bracteoles caducous or persistent. Flowers 5-merous, white or faintly flushed with pink. Calyx lobes strongly keeled, persistent in fruit. Petals free. Stamens 5, opposite the sepals; anthers tipped with a globose or cylindrical gland. Ovary half-inferior, 3-locular; 2 ovules in each loculus, placentation axile,; style inserted in a pit on the ovary summit; stigma capitate.
Fruit a loculicidal capsule, barely exserted from the hypanthium, 3-valved, valves opening widely on dehiscence; seeds reniform, arillate, yellowish, papillose.
Distribution and occurrence: World: 5 species, endemic Australia. Australia: Qld, N.S.W.
