Genus Radyera Family Malvaceae

Description: Perennial shrubs, densely stellate-tomentose.

Leaves sometimes shallowly lobed, margins toothed.

Flowers pedicellate, in few-flowered pedunculate axillary clusters or more numerous in terminal clusters. Epicalyx of 8–10 fused segments. Calyx 5- lobed. Petals showy. Staminal tube long and narrow. Carpels 5, each few-ovuled; stigmas 5.

Fruit a capsule, 5-locular, enclosed in persistent calyx, dehiscing loculicidally at first but eventually also septicidally.


Distribution and occurrence: World: 2 species, Australia & southern Africa. Australia: 1 species (endemic).
