Millotia tenuifolia var. tenuifolia Cass. APNI*

Description: Herb, usually 2–10 cm high; stems ± erect, white-woolly with pale golden glandular hairs (prominent on peduncles and young growth).

Leaves ± linear, rarely oblanceolate, usually 7–15 mm long, c. 1 mm wide, lamina ± woolly.

Peduncles usually 1–4 cm long; heads 5–7 mm long; involucral bracts c. 8–14, ± 1-seriate, linear to oblong, woolly, margins ± purple, entire. Florets c. 10–40, usually 4-toothed; corolla pale yellow, 2–3 mm long, teeth ± obtuse and erect.

Achenes 3–5 mm long, reddish brown to brown with beak often paler, papillae rounded ± dense; pappus of c. 20–30 barbellate bristles, ± fused at base, ± slightly longer than corolla.

Flowering: late winter–early summer.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in heath or sclerophyll communities, mainly on moister infertile grey or rarely red sands, in the Mildura, Albury and Kosciusko areas.
