Artanema fimbriatum D.Don APNI*

Description: Short-lived perennial herb, usually 30–60 cm high; stems erect or decumbent, ribbed; gland-dotted, especially on lower surface of leaves.

Leaves opposite, narrow-ovate to -elliptic, 4–8 cm long, 10–30 mm wide, margins toothed, lamina discolorous, upper surface, margins and lower midrib scabrous; petiole 2–10 mm long, decurrent on stem.

Inflorescence a raceme, flowers 4–8, single in axil of bracts; bracts 2–3 mm long; pedicels 5–12 mm long. Sepals 6–9 mm long, margins scabrous. Corolla 2-lipped, 16–25 mm long, violet or tube white; tube 12–18 mm long, dilated on lower side; limbs much shorter than tube, lobes rounded, 3–4 mm long.

Capsule ovoid to globose, 7.5–9 mm long, topped by persistent style c. 15 mm long.
