Austromyrtus tenuifolia (Sm.) Burret APNI*

Description: Bushy shrub 1–2 m high, with finely flaky bark; young shoots densely pilose, glabrescent with age.

Leaves with lamina linear to linear-lanceolate, 1.5–4 cm long, 1–3 mm wide, margins recurved, apex acute, apiculate, lower surface densely pilose, glabrescent with age; petiole 1–2.5 mm long.

Flowers solitary, axillary; pedicels 4–10 mm long. Hypanthium pilose to villous to silky. Sepals usually 5, 1–2 mm long. Petals 2–4 mm long, white, pubescent. Stamens 1.5–3 mm long. Ovary 2-locular; style 2.5–3.5 mm long.

Fruit 4–5 mm diam., purplish when immature, maturing white with dark spots.
