Description: Shrub to 2 m high with a greyish white tomentum, stems ± glabrescent.

Leaves linear to narrow-oblanceolate or narrow-elliptic, 10–35 mm long, 1–4 mm wide, margins recurved, upper surface ± scabrous, lower surface densely tomentose with midrib prominent.

Flowers ± sessile; bracts 6–7, outer bracts 1.5–3 mm long, narrow, thick, densely tomentose; inner bracts c. 2 mm long, broader, thinner-textured and sparsely tomentose to glabrous. Female perianth segments fused below the middle; lobes 2–3 mm long, oblong-ovate, glabrous, often recurved. Ovary densely tomentose; styles 3, deeply trifid.

Capsule c. 10 mm long, with medium to sparse covering of short and longer stellate hairs; seeds c. 6 mm long, reddish brown.
