Description: Erect shrub to 2 m high; stems terete, pubescent becoming glabrous.

Leaves alternate, distichous, 1-foliolate; lamina narrow-ovate to narrow-elliptic, 2–7 mm wide, both surfaces with appressed, silky hairs, becoming glabrous; stipules ≤ 1 mm long, acuminate.

Flowers c. 20 mm long; pedicels 3–5 mm long; bracts few, ≤ 1 mm long, obtuse; bracteoles similar, inserted near base of pedicel, ± persistent. Calyx 5–7 mm long, sparsely pubescent. Petals with standard and wings mostly yellow or orange; keel dark red exceeding other petals by 8–10 mm. Ovary glabrous, c. 8-ovuled.

Pod oblong, 15–20 mm long; stipe ≤ 10 mm long.
