Description: Erect herb, 20–60 cm high, indumentum of retrorse non-glandular hairs on margins of bracts and calyces, also sometimes on lower stem and leaves.

Lower leaves with lamina oblong, 0.3–3 cm long, 3–5 mm wide, apex obtuse, base attenuate; lamina of upper leaves linear, 0.5–6 cm long and 2–30 mm wide, apex ± obtuse, margin entire; petiole to c. 3 mm long.

Inflorescence sparse to ± dense, 6–15 cm long; bracteoles to c. 6 mm long. Calyx 5–7 mm long, glabrous except for ciliate margins. Corolla pink, blue, purplish or white, glabrous; tube 6–8 mm long; lobes 4–8 mm long.

Capsule oblong-ovoid, 4.5–6 mm long.
