Description: Epiphyte or epilith with rhizomes prostrate, forming a dense mat; pseudobulbs 5–15 mm apart, ovoid, 10–20 mm diam., deeply furrowed with warted ridges.

Leaves narrow-oblong to oblanceolate, 3–11 cm long, 6–14 mm wide, thinly leathery, flat, keeled.

Inflorescence 4–25 cm long, 3–12-flowered. Ovary smooth. Sepals green, the dorsal sepal with 3–5 reddish stripes; dorsal sepal 5–8 mm long, ovate; lateral sepals 12–26 mm long, narrow-triangular. Lateral petals about half as long as dorsal sepal, green with 3 reddish stripes. Labellum dark red to purple.


Flowering: May–December

Distribution and occurrence: Grows on rainforest trees or on exposed rocks; north from the Blue Mtns and west to the Rylstone district, from c. 600 to 1300 m alt.
