Synonyms: Melaleuca subulata (Cheel) Craven APNI*

Description: Low, spreading shrub mostly c. 1 m high; branchlets flexuous.

Leaves densely arranged, linear, subulate or terete, mostly 2–4 cm long, 2–3 mm wide, with a short mucro.

Spikes 4–8 cm long, 40–45 mm diam., mostly leafy; rachis sparsely hairy or glabrous. Filaments 15–20 mm long, dark crimson. Capsules 4–5 mm diam.
