Description: Small tree or shrub, to 5 m high; foliage dark green.

Leaves usually 4–5 mm long.

Female cones sessile or on short fruiting branchlets occurring singly or in dense clusters on the branches and remaining after maturity; cones ovoid, 12–24 mm long, 10–24 mm long; cone scales thick, each tapering above to an apex usually thickened by a short dorsal point, the alternate scales very much reduced; columella short, often 3-lobed.


Distribution and occurrence: Usually grows in sand near banks of streams; in scrub and open forest, scattered along the eastern side of the tablelands, rare in N.S.W.
