Description: Scrambling shrub or tall vine.

Leaves elliptic to oblong or ovate, lamina usually 5–11 cm long, 15–45 mm wide, apex acuminate, acute to rounded and with a distinct mucro 1–2 mm long,upper surface green and glabrous, lower surface pubescent with erect hairs; petiole 5–10 mm long; juvenile leaves 1–5 cm long, ± sessile; spines 4–10 mm long on juvenile shoots, straight, reduced to 1–2 mm long or lacking on mature branches.

Flowers solitary or often in pairs, pedicel 30–40 mm long. Petals 15–25 mm long, white. Gynophore 10–15 mm long.

Fruit globose, 30–40 mm diam., green; stalk 4–5 cm long.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in drier rainforest, north from Acacia Creek, also recorded from the Macleay R., apparently rare in N.S.W.
