Colobanthus pulvinatus F.Muell. APNI*

Description: Tufted herb with leaves spreading.

Leaves narrow-triangular to lanceolate, < 6 mm long, rigid, apex pungent, channelled above, convex below, margins thickened, midrib prominently keeled.

Pedicels 1–2 mm long, thickened, shorter than calyx. Sepals triangular, c. 3 mm long, pungent.

Capsule c. 3 mm long, as long as calyx; seeds reddish brown with low rounded tubercles and a definite depression about the hilum.

Flowering: summer.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in grassland and herbfields, sometimes forming dense, matted turfs; may also colonize disturbed areas.
