Convolvulus graminetinus R.W.Johnson APNI*

Description: Perennial with trailing and twining branches; stems terete, often ribbed, glabrescent.

Leaves uniform or variable in shape from base to tip of stem; lamina oblong-triangular to linear triangular to linear, 1.5–4(-6) cm long, 2–16 mm wide, apex acute to rounded and mucronate, base cordate to truncate, basal lobes entire or bifid, margins entire or ascending lobes occasionally present, linear, very sparsely hairy to glabrous; petiole 2–20 mm long.

Inflorescence 1–2-flowered, usually solitary in the leaf axils; peduncle terete, wiry, 7–55 mm long, moderately to sparsely hairy with crisped-appressed hairs. Sepals to 5.5 mm long, sparsely hairy to glabrous. Corolla funnel-shaped, 6–10 mm long, 7.5–15 mm diam., pink (rarely white) with a greenish-cream throat.

Capsule globose 4–5.5 mm long, 4–5.5 mm diam., glabrous; fruiting pedicels strongly recurved. Seeds 2.5–3(-3.5) mm long, with low, wavy tubercles but no wing-like structures at the margins.

Flowering: Late spring into early winter.

Distribution and occurrence: In NSW, mostly found on the north-western slopes and plains with some records from the south-western plains; also common in semi-arid and subhumid parts of Queensland.

Found mainly on clay soils on aluvial plains in eucalypt woodlands, or on black soil plains in grassland.
