Crepis setosa Hallier f. APNI*

Description: Annual herb to 80 cm high; stems branched, hairs bristly, also filamentous above.

Basal leaves usually forming a rosette, oblanceolate to elliptic in outline, 8–20 cm long, 1–5 cm wide, apex obtuse to acute, apex toothed, runcinate-pinnatifid; cauline leaves reduced, stem-clasping, with auricles.

Heads turbinate to campanulate, 6–10 mm diam., numerous, on slender peduncles, in loose corymbose panicles; involucral bracts with stiff yellow bristles and often sparse filamentous hairs; receptacle pits with finely ciliate margins. Corolla yellow, sometimes with red stripe on outer face of ligule.

Achenes 3–5 mm long, fusiform, scabrid, beaked or shortly beaked; pappus 1 row of simple white hairs, 4–5 mm long.
