Description: Shrub 25–65 cm high; branches white-tomentose.
Leaves usually in whorls of 3, linear or sometimes linear-lanceolate, 7–22 mm long, 2–4 mm wide, upper surface wrinkled and pubescent, lower surface grey-tomentose; sessile.
Inflorescences terminal; cymes sessile, arranged in distant whorled clusters of 3 triads; bracts 4–8 mm long. Calyx lobes free almost to base; tube to 1 mm long; lobes 3–4 mm long. Corolla 5–7 mm long, white or pale mauve; lowest lobe much larger than others. Stamens 5, exserted.
Fruit c. 3 mm diam., silky.
Flowering: chiefly spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in mallee on deep red sand; in semi-arid areas from Wilcannia to Wentworth district.
