Description: Herbs with stems erect, usually simple, sometimes multi-branched, 2.5–25-(38) cm long, glabrous; tubers ovoid.

Leaves in a flat basal rosette and cauline; lamina of basal leaves often bright yellow-green, 1–5 mm long, 2–11 mm wide, elliptic to reniform or hatchet-shaped, on a linear petiole 3–17 mm long; cauline leaves alternate, the lamina lunate, 1–6.5 mm long, 1–10 mm wide, with acute angles, on petiole 3–17 mm long; stipules absent.

Inflorescence usually a one-sided raceme, 1–10-flowered; bracts narrowly ovate or ovate, c. 1 mm long; pedicels 0.5–15mm long; sepals 5, ovate, elliptic or obovate, 2–5 mm long, 0.7–2.4 mm wide, moderately to densely pubescent, rarely glabrous except for the ciliate margins; petals 5, obovate, 3–7 mm long, white or pink; styles 3, the upper half of each divided digitately several times.

Seeds black, cylindrical, pandurate to obovoid, 0.5–0.8 mm long, deeply reticulate or pitted.


Distribution and occurrence: Found in herblands and low open shrublands in coastal, tableland and inland seasonally moist habitats.

This species has previously been included in Drosera peltata. It can be distinguished from D. peltata by the basal rosette remaining yellow-greenish, short and generally more robust, sometimes much-branched stems, wider cauline leaves, and deeply reticulate seeds.
