Erodium malacoides (L.) Willd. APNI*

Description: Ascending to erect annual herb to 50 cm high, stems with non-glandular and glandular hairs.

Basal leaves pinnatifid; lamina ovate to cordate, to 5 cm long and 4 cm wide, 5–7-lobed with lobes toothed, both surfaces softly hairy; petiole 4–9 cm long, hirsute.

Flowers in umbels of 5–7; peduncle 3–5 cm long; pedicels c. 1.5 cm long. Sepals 4–5 mm long, densely glandular hairy. Petals slightly longer than sepals, deep pink to mauve.

Fruit 2.5–3.5 cm long; mericarps hirsute, both the pit and the furrow well-defined and with large glandular hairs.
