Euphorbia parvicaruncula D.C.Hassall APNI*

Description: Herbaceous, possibly a short-lived perennial, semisucculent with copious milky latex, erect, to 50 cm high.

Leaves oblanceolate to ovate, entire or slightly toothed; petiole 5–7 mm long; stipules absent.

Cyathia on peduncles to 1 mm long; involucre 1 mm long, glands 4, yellow, ovate and entire, without appendages, the intervening lobes bent inwards. Male flowers arranged in 5 bundles, each with several glabrous stamens.

Capsule c. 4 mm long, 4 mm diam.; seeds to 3 mm long, with blister-like swellings, greyish to light brown with dark brown to purplish spots; caruncle crescentic, yellow to brown.


Flowering: most of the year.

Distribution and occurrence: On hard, crusty duplex soils.
