Description: Slender, glaucous annual 15–40 cm high.

Leaves variously pinnatisect, segments channelled, ± linear, usually < 1 mm wide.

Inflorescence sessile; bracts as long as the fruiting pedicels. Sepals < 1.5 mm long. Corolla 4–6 mm long, mostly white with a green or purple tip.

Fruit with base narrower than the pedicel, ± pointed at apex.


Flowering: winter to spring.

Distribution and occurrence: weed of crops and moist places. Native of Eurasia.
