Geococcus pusillus J.L.Drumm. ex Harv. APNI*

Description: Prostrate herb with short lateral stems, often much-branched and crowded, sparsely covered with branched, sessile to shortly stalked hairs.

Basal and stem leaves similar, crowded, to 3.5 cm long, pinnatifid with c. 15 pairs of linear lobes, toothed, petiolate.

Sepals and petals c. 1 mm long, petals white.

Fruit linear, 3–15 mm long, 1–3 mm wide; pedicel horizontal to descending, c. 2 cm in flower, elongating to c. 4 cm in fruit and often burying fruit in soil; buried fruit often deformed.


Distribution and occurrence: Widespread in semi-arid areas of Aust.
