Gnaphalium polycaulon Pers. APNI*

Description: Erect to ascending annual herb to 15 cm high.

Leaves cauline, oblanceolate, 1–4.5 cm long, 2–9 mm wide, apex obtuse to acute, base attenuate, margins entire; lamina flat, both surfaces cobwebby and grey-green.

Heads 2–3 mm diam., in axillary clusters forming a dense leafy panicle; involucral bracts acute, green near the base, straw-coloured and scarious above, the outer ovate and woolly at the base, the inner linear and glabrous.

Achenes obovoid, c. 0.5 mm long, brown; pappus bristles free c. 1.8 mm long, barbellate apically.
