Grevillea quadricauda Olde & Marriott APNI*

Description: Dense bushy shrub 1–2 m high with purplish new growth.

Leaves, oblanceolate to oblong-elliptic, 1.3–1.8 cm long, 3–6 mm wide, margins entire, shortly recurved or almost flat, upper surface pubescent to loosely villous, lower surface openly tomentose-villous.

Conflorescences 2–4-flowered. Perianth green with a pinkish red or white limb, openly tomentose outside, bearded inside 2.5–3 mm from the base, glabrous or sparsely sericeous above the beard; limb ovoid-acuminate. Gynoecium 25–27 mm long; ovary villous, sessile; style green, openly villous; pollen presenter lateral.

Follicle sparsely hairy, obscurely ribbed, style becoming sharply inflexed at base.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in gravelly loam or in sand as an undershrub in eucalypt woodland usually along creek or drainage lines; hills north-west of Whiporie.
