Description: Tree up to 6 m high, bark smooth, grey to dark grey, often ± spotted; new growth pubescent.

Leaves 8–15 cm long, rachis with terminal spur; leaflets 2–6, obovate to narrow-elliptic, 3–10 cm long, 1–4 cm wide, apex obtuse or mucronate or rarely acute, base attenuate; upper surface dull, dark green and glabrous; lower surface glaucous, greyish green, gland-dotted and finely hairy; petiole 10–30 mm long, sometimes ± winged in some juvenile plants; petiolules 2–4 mm long, pulvinate.

Panicles axillary, mostly 3–10 cm long. Petals 2–2.5 mm long, white.

Capsule 8–10 mm long, 10–14 mm diam., reddish, lobes 2 or 3, spreading; aril yellow, long-tailed.

Distribution and occurrence: North from Boyne S.F. (Batemans Bay district) and west to Macleay River gorges. NC CC SC NT; Qld.

Grows in warmer rainforest from the coast to the ranges, often in regrowth.
