Gyrostemon australasicus (Moq.) Heimerl APNI* 
Description: Shrub to 1 m high with erect branches, smooth or slightly scabrous.
Leaves linear to terete, sometimes widening upward, often grooved below, mostly 5–20 mm long, rarely short and thick; apex usually hooked; stipules golden.
Pedicels 1–2 mm long, recurved. Calyx shallowly lobed. Stamens 9–12 in 1 whorl. Carpels 4–7, united around a central column; stigmas free or shortly united, linear, 1–4 mm long; disc knob-like.
Fruit 3–5 mm long.
Distribution and occurrence: in heath and mallee shrubland, on dunes and limestone. Rare in N.S.W.
