Hibbertia covenyana B.J.Conn APNI*

Description: Semiprostrate shrub to 50 cm high, densely hairy; leaves often at right angles to stem.

Leaves oblong, 4–10 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, apex ± obtuse, base acute, margins recurved, scabrous with tubercle-based shortly stellate hairs, lower surface whitish-tomentose.

Flowers terminal on short lateral shoots, peduncles 8–15 mm long. Sepals c. 10 mm long, acute, outer surfaces densely hairy with stellate and simple hairs. Petals 10–14 mm long. Stamens 15–25, on 1 side of carpels. Carpels 2, densely hairy.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in open forest; chiefly in the Pilliga Scrub; not common.
