Hypserpa decumbens (Benth.) Diels APNI*

Description: Twiner with young stems, leaves and inflorescences rusty-pubescent, dioecious.

Leaves with lamina ± ovate to oblong-elliptic, 3–6 cm long, 10–20 mm wide, pubescent when young, becoming glabrescent on upper surface; pinnately veined with 3–5 pairs of veins, rusty-hairy on lower surface, reticulum areolate, not raised when dried; petiole 3–10 mm long.  Inflorescences 2–4 cm long, rusty-hairy.

Stamens 10–15.

Drupes compressed-globose, stylar scar near base, 5–7 mm diam.

Distribution and occurrence: in littoral rainforest, near Kingscliff.

Qld specimens usually have larger leaves; the leaves are mostly broad-ovate and to 10 cm long and 7 cm wide and 3–7-veined from base.
