Description: Annual with twining stems, ± glabrous except for patches of short hairs in leaf axils.

Leaves with lamina ovate to ± lanceolate, 4–10 cm long, 2.5–7 cm wide, apex ± acuminate with a prominent mucro, base cordate, margins entire, toothed to shallowly or deeply 3-lobed, mostly glabrous; petiole 2–9 cm long.

Inflorescence many-flowered. Corolla trumpet-shaped, scarlet with an orange throat, glabrous; tube slightly curved, 3–4 cm long; limb 1.5–2.5 cm diam.

Capsule globose to depressed-globose, 6–7 mm diam., 4-locular, splitting into 4-valves; seeds sparsely pubescent.
