Kunzea cambagei Maiden & Betche APNI*

Description: Prostrate or ascending shrub to 0.6 m high; young stems silky.

Leaves elliptic to obovate, 3–8 mm long, 1.5–3 mm wide, apex obtuse, finely appressed-hairy, glabrescent with age; petiole c. 0.5 mm long.

Flowers cream to yellowish, sessile, in head-like clusters at end of branches. Hypanthium silky. Sepals triangular, to 1 mm long. Petals 1–1.5 mm long. Stamens 2.5–3 mm long. Ovary 2-locular, placentation apical; style 3–3.5 mm long.

Fruit 3 mm long, 1.5 mm diam., indehiscent.


Flowering: spring.

Distribution and occurrence: Found at scattered locations, from the Newnes Plateau south to an area west of Canyonleigh.

Grows in heath.
