Lasiopetalum baueri Steetz APNI*

Description: Small hoary shrub to 1.5 m high.

Leaves 1.5–3 cm long, sometimes to 6 cm long and 5 mm wide, margins revolute; upper surface green-grey and finely pubescent to glabrous, lower surface whitish to rusty-tomentose with only rusty midvein visible.

Racemes short, few-flowered, shortly pedunculate, reflexed; bracteoles 1–1.5 mm long, 0.5 mm wide. Calyx mostly 4–5 mm long, both surfaces hairy.

Capsule 3–5 mm diam., tomentose.

Flowering: mainly spring.

Distribution and occurrence: Mostly on red sands associated with mallee communities; rare in N.S.W., confined to Rankin Springs district.
