Description: Dense shrub to c. 2.5 m high; branchlets strongly ridged when young, stellate-puberulous.

Leaves oblong-elliptic, (8-)12–21(-30) mm long, 1.3–2.5 mm wide, apex acute to obtuse; upper surface minutely scabrous and somewhat tuberculate from raised oil-glands, usually glabrous or with very sparse, scattered stellate hairs; lower surface smooth, white stellate-puberulous; margin revolute; petiole 1.5–3 mm long.

Inflorescence a compact axillary triad (rarely a single flower); peduncles and pedicels ± glabrous. Calyx obturbinate, 1–1.5 mm long, glabrous, lobes deltoid, about half the length of the entire calyx; petals valvate, narrow-elliptic, 4.5–5 mm long, pale yellow, glabrous, gland-dotted; stamens 6–8 mm long; style slightly shorter than or equal to stamens; ovary usually glabrous, rarely villous, carpels with a linear beak 1.5–2 mm long at anthesis.

Follicles erect, the fertile portion ellipsoid, 3.5–4 mm long, the beak 3–4 mm long at maturity.
