Description: Erect to ascending annual herb to 25 cm high, often much-branched, sparsely woolly.
Leaves linear 1–2 cm long, 1–2.5 mm wide, slightly decurrent on the stem, lamina minutely glandular, upper surface glabrescent or sparsely hairy, lower surface pubescent with tangled hairs.
Compound heads on peduncle 2–5 cm long; heads hemispherical 6–9 mm long, 7–10 mm wide; involucral bracts extending down peduncle, cobwebby especially towards base, mostly ± hyaline, margins long-ciliate. Florets yellow.
Achenes oblong, slightly falcate, scarcely contracted at the tip, papillose; pappus of bisexual florets of 1–3 bristles three-quarters as long as the floret, barbellate at base, plumose at tip, absent in female florets.
Flowering: spring.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in Acacia scrubland, on sandy and sandy loam soils, often in wetter areas, drain lines and depressions; west of Narrabri district.
