Description: Shrub to c. 1.5 m, bark close and rough, younger stems pubescent.

Leaves elliptic to obovate 10–30 mm long, 6–8 mm wide, lower surface pubescent; apex infolded, point recurved; base tapering to a distinct pubescent petiole.

Flowers solitary or 2 together, c. 15 mm diam., white. Hypanthium 4–5 mm long, pubescent, pedicel 1 mm or more long. Sepals 3–4 mm long, densely pubescent. Petals 7–8 mm long. Stamens c.4 mm long. Ovary 5-locular.

Fruit 8–10 mm diam., valves scarcely expanding.
