Description: Erect often bushy shrub 70–300 cm high; branchlets glabrous or finely pubescent.

Leaves elliptic or ovate, 6–34 mm long, 1.3–5.5 mm wide; margins sometimes recurved, entire or toothed towards apex; lamina concolorous, flat to convex on upper surface, lower surface faintly striate; petiole 0–1.5 mm.

Flowers erect, 2–16 in spikes 3–39 mm long, white; bracteoles 0.65–1.5 mm long. Sepals 1.1–2 mm long. Corolla tube 1–1.8 mm long, pubescent near throat inside; lobes 1.2–2.25 mm long.

Fruit ellipsoid or obovoid, 2.1–3.3 mm long, red, smooth-surfaced, glabrous.
