Description: Erect, spreading shrub to 3 m high; branchlets bristly.

Leaves obovate, sometimes ± oblong, 6.1–11.2 mm long, 1.2–2.5 mm wide; margins recurved and finely toothed; lamina ± concolorous, bristly, thin, lower surface convex and striate- to parallel-veined; petiole c. 0.4 mm long.

Flowers erect, axillary, sparse, 1 or 2 plus rudiment, white; bracteoles 1.0–1.3 mm long. Sepals 1.5–1.9 mm long. Corolla tube 1.15–1.3 mm long, glabrous; lobes longer than tube, 1.3–2.5 mm long, internally upper half villous, lower half shaggy, sometimes sparsely hairy externally.

Fruit obovoid, 3–4 mm long, compressed, surface ribbed, glabrous or sparsely bristly, green with a white fleshy base.

Habitat Swamp margins.

Typical local abundance Occasional.

Vegetation Coastal heath, dry eucalypt forest e.g. with Eucalyptus robusta, Banksia collina.

Substrate Sandy soil, low nutrients.
