Description: Bushy or spreading shrub up to 100 cm high; branchlets finely hispid.

Leaves ovate to obovate, 2.2–7.3 mm long, 1.4–2.5 mm wide; margins entire and with long coarse hairs often irregularly spaced; lamina glabrous or finely hispid, concolorous, upper surface usually convex, lower surface with ± parallel veins; petiole to 0.5 mm long.

Flowers erect, mostly 4–9 plus rudiment together in compact spikes 5–11 mm long, white; bracteoles 1.35–1.8 mm long. Sepals 2.3–2.7 mm long, dark-tipped. Corolla tube 1.1–1.85 mm long, pubescent at throat; lobes 1.5–2.6 mm long.

Fruit ± oblong 1.2–1.5 mm long, slightly ridged, glabrous.

Distribution and occurrence: Widespread in heath, scrub and dry sclerophyll forest on sandy or rocky soils.
