Description: Shrub or small tree.

Leaves oblong-lanceolate, 7–10 cm long, 15–30 mm wide, margins entire, glabrous, venation strongly reticulate; petiole 2–3 mm long.

Flowers solitary; peduncle 3–5 mm long. Sepals c. 3 mm long. Petals 15–25 mm long, 2–3 mm wide, cream covered with brown hairs. Carpels hairy.

Berries 15–25 mm long, c. 10 mm diam., mostly 1–3-seeded, orange-yellow, sparsely hairy.


Flowering: summer to autumn.

Distribution and occurrence: Occurs north from Coffs Harbour, North Coast; also QLD.

Understorey species found in lowland subtropical rainforest.
