Description: Shrub to 2 m high or possibly a small tree; branchlets finely hairy to glabrous; axillary buds 1 or 2, pointed, finely hairy.

Leaves linear to narrow-elliptic or lanceolate, 2.5–10 cm long, 2–14 mm wide, usually 7–10 times as long as broad, apex elongated, very acute, base acute, long attenuate into the petiole, margins entire, lamina ± pubescent when young, venation ± obscure except the midrib, secondary veins sometimes visible, especially on upper surface, often not visible on lower surface.

Inflorescences 1–2 cm long, 7–9-flowered. Calyx 0.5–1 mm long. Petals 1.5–2.5 mm long, yellow.

Drupe ovoid to globose, 5–6 mm long, 4–5 mm wide.

Flowering: spring.

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in dry sclerophyll forest, usually on limestone or occasionally on sandstone; from Bungonia Gorge to Capertee area.
