Olearia minor (Benth.) Lander APNI*

Description: Shrub to 1.5 m high.

Leaves alternate, scattered; lamina elliptic or obovate, 1.5–8 mm long, 1–2.5 mm wide; apex rounded or broad-acute, without a mucro; margins entire, revolute; surfaces discolorous, upper surface subglabrous, lower surface grey-woolly; venation indistinct; sessile or subsessile.

Heads terminal, solitary or clustered, subsessile, 12–22 mm diam. Ray florets 7–12, white. Disc florets 6–13, yellow.

Achenes weakly to densely glandular; pappus with 37–65 bristles in 1–2 series, rarely with an outer row of short bristles.


Flowering: June–November

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in mallee or open shrubland on red-brown loam or yellow-brown sand on dunes or rocky slopes; chiefly in the Balranald district, also recorded for Dubbo and the Budawang Ra.
