Description: Decumbent to erect annual with stems to 0.7 m long.

Leaves with sheath subglabrous or with sparse tubercle-based hairs; ligule membranous below, ciliate above, 2–3 mm long; blade 3–8 mm long, subglabrous or with sparse tubercle-based hairs.

Panicle partly exserted, 5–30 cm long, pedicels 1.5–10 mm long. Spikelets ovate to elliptic, 2.5–3.5 mm long. Lower glume 25–35% the length of the spikelet, with a short, median, obtuse to shortly acute point, 0–5-nerved; upper the shape and size of the spikelet, 9–11-nerved. Lower lemma sterile, similar to the upper glume, 7–9-nerved; palea about as long as the lemma. Upper lemma elliptic, smooth, shining, finely striolate, 2–2.5 mm long, obscurely 5–7-nerved.
