Description: Glabrous climber.

Leaves mostly 5-lobed, lamina 8–12 cm long, margins not toothed, sometimes glaucous; petiole 1–4 cm long, usually with 2–4 glands near middle; stipules leafy, 10–20 mm long.

Flowers 6–8 cm diam., greenish white, corona bluish or purplish.

Berry subglobose, c. 6 cm long, yellow to orange.


Distribution and occurrence: Sometimes cultivated as an ornamental, often used as a stock for other cultivated species, occasionally naturalized. Native of Brazil.
