Description: Erect shrub or small tree, rarely more than 4 m high; bark whitish, branchlets often spinose.
Leaves alternate, narrow-ovate to elliptic or broad-lanceolate, usually 15–40 mm long, 5–20 mm wide, apex acute or obtuse, margins entire, with inconspicuous translucent orange oil glands on both surfaces, glabrous, petiole 1–3 mm long.
Flowers sessile or nearly so, axillary, solitary or in pairs. Sepals 2–3 mm long. Petals 3–9 mm long, cream.
Fruit globose, 6–10 mm diam., glabrous; pericarp thin, seeds c. 10, immersed in a viscous fluid.
Flowering: spring–summer.
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in open areas in or beside dry rainforest or Hoop Pine scrub at higher altitudes (more than c. 500 m), north from Lismore district.
