Description: Annual herb, with a persistent taproot; pilose.

Leaves basal, oblanceolate to narrow-oblong, 6–10 cm long, 4–15 mm wide, 3-veined, margins toothed or obscurely toothed.

Scapes to 20 cm long; spike 2–10 cm long; bracts oblong-elliptic, 1.5–1.8 mm long. Sepals elliptic, 1.5–2 mm long; keel glabrous or pilose, a half to two-thirds the breadth of the sepal. Corolla lobes ovate to broad-ovate, c. 1 mm long.

Capsule ovoid, mostly 3–3.5 mm long; seeds up to 5.


Flowering: mostly August–November

Distribution and occurrence: Grows in temporarily moist sites in grassland, woodland and saltbush plains, on heavy clay soils; west from Gunnedah district.
