Plantago palustris L.R.Fraser & Vickery APNI* 
Description: Perennial herb, with adventitious roots; glabrous or sparsely and unevenly pilose, sometimes with conspicuous transverse bands of hairs on the leaves.
Leaves lanceolate to elliptic, 3–10 cm long, 4–10 mm wide, 3-veined, margins entire or with a few inconspicuous teeth.
Scapes 1–2 mm long at flowering, elongating after flowering to become longer than leaves; spike ± capitate, 3–9-flowered; bracts ovate, 1–2 mm long. Sepals narrow-elliptic, 2.3–3 mm long glabrous, with a narrow keel.
Capsule ellipsoidal to globose, 3–4 mm long; seeds up to 4.
Flowering: November–January
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in swamps, confined to Barrington Tops.
