Platysace ericoides (Sieber ex Spreng.) C.Norman APNI* 
Description: Semi-prostrate or diffuse shrub 10–50 cm high; stems scabrous to hispid.
Leaves undivided, linear or elliptic-oblong to oblong, 2.8–20 mm long, 0.5–1.8 mm wide; apex acute, mucronate; lamina glabrous to hispid; base attenuate or truncate; petiole to 0.5 mm long.
Umbels terminal, usually compound, to 20 mm diam.; peduncle 2–12 mm long; rays 3–6, usually 4–7 mm long; bracts narrow-elliptic, to 2.5 mm long; bracteoles linear, to 1.5 mm long. Petals white, occasionally cream.
Fruit 1.5–2.3 mm long, 1.6–2.1 mm wide, smooth, straight-sided, furrowed at rib, broad at the mericarp junction.
Flowering: August–April
Distribution and occurrence: Grows in coastal heath, scrubby heath and sclerophyll woodland on sandy soils over various substrates, north from Mittagong.
NSW subdivisions: NC, CC, NT, CT, NWS, CWS, NWP
Other Australian states: Qld
Specimens with the shortest and broadest leaves grow mainly in coastal districts north from Angourie, but similar leaf shapes are found also in the CC and CT regions. This variable species warrants further investigation.
