Description: Erect to ascending annual to c. 15 cm high.

Leaves cobwebby, 5–20 mm long, 7 mm wide; basal leaves in a rosette, elliptic; cauline leaves lanceolate, acute.

Flower heads in cymes or solitary, campanulate, 3–5 cmm diam. involucral bracts linear to ovate, green with entire scarious margins, intermediate bracts with a basal claw equal to the lamina. Florets tubular, yellow; outer florets female or sterile, 10–20; inner florets bisexual, 10–25.

Achenes 0.5–1mm long; pappus 2–3 mm long, bristles 5–10, free.

Flowering: Flowers August to October.

Distribution and occurrence: Uncommon and wiidespread in north-western Victoria, South Australia & Western Australia.

In mallee on sandy soils.
